Kids Ministry

I’ve been going to church since 9 months before I was born. I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ as child, yet even with all the “right” circumstances in my upbringing, I still struggled to own my faith. When I was in my early 20’s, I watched my younger sister, Marci, endure a 4-year battle with pancreatic cancer that eventually resulted in her death at age 22. God used that experience to change my life in profound and amazing ways, helping me to understand the difference between believing IN God and simply BELIEVING Him. He is a GOOD and faithful God!

In 1991, I graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma with a degree in elementary education. I was an elementary school teacher for over 21 years, with 11 of those years at Mt. Peak in Midlothian, mostly in a 4th grade classroom. In July of 2018, God called me to leave my successful teaching career and join the staff of Stonegate in the Kids Ministry. It has been an incredible experience!

My husband, Kyle, and I were married in 1997 and have four amazing kids: Makenzie, Ian, Caed, and Braedan. My family and I have been coming to Stonegate since January 2014 and are so grateful for how God has used this church in our lives. We’re humbled to know that each of our children loves the Lord, and we can’t wait to see where He takes them in life!

In my spare time, I love building my family tree and solving family mysteries using genealogical research. Consider carefully before asking me about this hobby, or you might get a longer conversation than you bargained for!

My hope for Stonegate is that we would continue to be a place where families can find life-changing peace through the truth of Gospel. I pray that God would use this community of broken Believers to be a humble reflection of a loving God to a sinful world in need of a Savior. May we joyfully rise to our calling: Enjoy Jesus and Make Disciples.
