No. The Institute is designed for anyone who wants to go deeper — not just people with prior seminary or Bible college experience. Gospel Story assumes no background and is built to meet you where you are.

The four Institute courses are the core sequence — a structured theological arc that moves from Story to Theology to Life to Mission. The Bible studies are supplemental: shorter, more focused on specific books or topics, and designed to complement the courses rather than replace them. If you're new, start with Gospel Story.

Each course is $40. Required reading books are additional and listed with each course at registration. Bible studies are priced separately — see each study for details.

Each course runs 8 weeks, meeting in person at Stonegate in the evenings. Expect roughly 2–3 hours per week including session time and reading. Most students manage it alongside a full schedule.

The Institute has articulation agreements with Spurgeon College, Midwestern Seminary, and Dallas Baptist University. To pursue credit you'll need to be enrolled or apply to one of those schools. Email info@stonegate.church and we'll walk you through it. Credit is completely optional.

The Institute is led by Justin Jackson, Stonegate's Pastor of Theological Development and an adjunct faculty member at a partnering seminary. Justin built the curriculum and established the articulation agreements with Spurgeon, Midwestern, and DBU.
