Kids Ministry Director
One of my favorite verses in scripture is Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship (some versions say “Masterpiece”) created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we would walk in them.” This verse is a testimony of my life – a work in progress, being perfected by my Creator for His good works.
I grew up in a home with a Dad who loves the Word of God and a Mom that taught me to abide. Neither were perfect, but they always pointed me to Jesus. I learned quickly what it looked like to pray and study, to worship and to serve. Their example echos in everything I do and I am grateful for it. As for my calling to ministry – it was clear and affirmed by mentors, teachers and especially my parents. I remember professing with great drama and conviction that God had called me to “not just be a hearer of the Word, but a doer”, and my parents simply responding, “we know… we’ve always known.” From that point forward, Holy God has opened door after door for ministry and every good work. I have joyfully and confidently walked forward with His hand firmly upholding me through every step. Even when I have not been as faithful as I should be, He has not once denied me His faithfulness.
I began as a Student Leader in High School, a Camp Counselor, Kids Min Intern, an After School Coordinator and Interim Children’s Minister in college, to Full Time Children’s Minister for 13 years at a church in Irving, TX. I became a full time mom and church volunteer when my fourth child was born. Now, I am walking into Stonegate as your Kids Ministry Director. The privilege to be a part of such a team is not lost on me. I am humbled and in awe of God’s calling to direct, connect, serve and abide alongside those willing to lead the coolest people in the church – “the little children.” My hope is in Christ – that He would guide us into a new season of fruitful growth, of salvation, parents learning to pastor and pray, kids learning to love Jesus and tell others about Him.
I have the wonderful support of my husband, Aaron, who loves and guides our family with grace and gentleness. We were married in 2007 and our covenant has continually blessed and refined my life. We have four children, Micah, Joshua, Luke and Lydia. They are an absolute delight and a sincere and completely undeserved reward from the Lord. We love to hike, road trips and cook outs, family dance parties, pizza and movie nights, to study God’s word together, fire pit nights and all the s’mores.
