I was raised in Tulsa Oklahoma by two wonderful Christ following parents. They set the example of a loyal Godly marriage and a deep commitment to a local church. The involvement and love of that church played a huge part in me eventually following and lovingJesus as a preteen. I truly believe I am in ministry today because of the my upbringing in this faithful body. They gave me so many opportunities to discover and workout my gifts and calling.
Life these days look like a great marriage to Brandon, Groups Pastor at SG, 2009 and raising a busy teenage household with Quinn and Greyson. We are also navigating a new season of parenting to our adult kid, Emma, as she begins her career and independence. Many weekends are found on the sidelines of a basketball or volleyball court, with most weeknights driving my mini van everywhere, tackling “new” math, and living through a million little conversations pointing them to Jesus. It is my greatest joy to live with my little family.
Stonegate has been very impactful in my walk with Jesus. In the early years, I remember leaving every week in deep thought because I had never heard the Bible explained this way. Pastor Rodney preached a series shortly after we began attending called “Change” that blew me up. It gave language and exposure to my sinful heart and self righteous tendencies. The friendships and community Stonegate have given me and my family is truly a gift from God for encouragement and accountability. I am so grateful God brought me to this church family both as a member and a staff member.
My ministry experience spans over 25 years in the arenas of kids ministry, athletic team discipleship, higher education, new church plant and both a small and large growing church. But through all my experience my love for the thriving of the local church fuels my work and it is where I fit best. I believe that God created, called and gifted women for the church’s flourishing and the ministry of the gospel. I enjoy creating studies, events, and programs that support this mission.
