Carson Wicker
I was born and raised in Decatur, Texas and I am the middle child of 3 in my family. My parents are local to DFW, with my mom originally from Decatur and my dad from Fort Worth. I was blessed to be raised in a God-fearing family who loved me so well. I was saved at VBS, when I believed for the first time that I was lost and I needed Jesus. Growing up, I was in the church every time the doors were open. Even when I was young, I found so much joy in serving the Lord.
After my freshman year of high school, I knew that the Lord had called me into vocational ministry. However, at the time, that was not what I wanted to do, I surrendered because I knew I wouldn’t be fulfilled doing anything else. During high school, the Lord burdened my heart for the creative ministry. I believe there is so much opportunity to advance the gospel through photography, design, and social media.
After graduating high school in 2022, I headed to Dallas Baptist University to pursue a degree in Church Media. The Lord brought me to Stonegate in the Fall of 2022, and I fell in love with the people of this church. In my spare time, I enjoy creative things like graphic design, photography, and videography. I’m also a very competitive person, I enjoy playing pickleball, tennis, and volleyball. I am also a big fan of good food, and making good food is even better!
My prayer for Stonegate is that we would be a people committed to serving the Lord and reaching the people of this community. Also, as methods of sharing the gospel change through technology and media, that we will continue to share the same message of the Gospel!
